Dalila Hernández-Ramírez, M.A.

Founder

Dalila was born and raised in Oaxaca, México. At the age of 15, she moved to Napa to attend Vintage High School. She then graduated from Napa Valley College and transferred to Sonoma State University, where she completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Spanish Linguistics and Literature, a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Spanish, and a Bilingual Teaching Credential in Spanish and English.

She decided to found Español in the Valley in 2011 when she realized the tremendous need in our community.


Abimael Leyva, B.S.

Senior Interpreter

Abimael was born in Napa but spent his teenage years living abroad in Mexico, where he developed a deep appreciation for the rich and diverse cultures of Spanish-speaking communities. He holds a bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from UC Davis, which has equipped him with a unique perspective on language and learning. Over the years, Abimael has worked closely with local organizations and schools to serve the Spanish-speaking community of Napa, using his skills and knowledge to foster understanding and provide valuable support. He is passionate about helping others bridge cultural gaps and facilitating effective communication
